We are proud to acknowledge our outstanding Senior Consultant Rev. Dr. Bill Nelsen, who was inducted into the charter membership of the Augustana University Honorary Alumni Society. The ceremony was held on Friday, September 22, 2023, as part of the 100th Anniversary of Viking Days, the homecoming weekend for the University.
President Stephanie Herseth Sandlin wrote as follows: “The Honorary Alumni Society was established to recognize individuals who have shown extraordinary dedication to Augustana’s mission, along with its core values of Christian, Liberal Arts, Excellence, Community, and Service. Through sustained commitment to the university, an honorary alumnus has demonstrated the “gold standard” of engagement. You, Bill, are AU through and through—pure gold! With this special recognition, we wish to further emphasize our deep gratitude for your leadership, loyalty, care, generous support, faithful service, and involvement as a member of the AU community. As a member of the Honorary Alumni Society, you will enjoy special recognition, along with the rights and privileges pertaining to Augustana alumni.”
