Theme: Higher Education beyond Covid

The Registry itself expanded throughout the pandemic and has now emerged as a much more significant microcosm and reflection of the academic universe that it serves. As a result, our 2022 Seminar will inevitably focus on how The Registry in its expanded role might best contribute to a redefinition and revitalization of the academy.

The uninterrupted growth and expansion of The Registry over the last several years have been mission-driven and multi-dimensional. As a result, we will be encouraging the development of Seminar topics that inherently reveal how The Registry has already begun to impact the post-pandemic future of the academy. What follows is a small sampling of possible topics: (a) turn- around strategies; (b) alternative futures; (c)multi-year interim placements—the competitive advantages; (d) the preservation of academic freedom; (e) diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives; and (f) turnover, burnout, and demoralization.

In summary, higher education has been profoundly impacted by the pandemic and the academy must adapt to new conditions, many of which will be permanent. As a result of its own growth and expansion, The Registry is now positioned to have a much greater impact on the destiny of the academy. To do that successfully The Registry will rely upon the “collective wisdom” of its membership, which is a fundamental purpose for gathering at our Annual Seminars. After a long hiatus, we will once again have an opportunity to capture and define our own “collective wisdom” for the ultimate purpose of benefiting the colleges and universities that we serve. As we prepare for the 2022 Annual Seminar, we encourage all Members to be mindful of our collective opportunity to have a much more substantial impact on the future of the academy.
