An Interview With Mikaela Rodgers

In recognition of her great work and many contributions to The Registry, Mikaela was recently promoted. In this expanded role, Mikaela will be responsible for developing, expanding, and executing platforms and systematic strategies for business development outreach designed to capitalize on the Registry’s comprehensive marketing and sales campaigns.

For how long have you been working with The Registry? What have you enjoyed most about your role?

I have been working with The Registry for nearly six years. While I wear many hats, I most enjoy the opportunity to interface with our Registry members and our college and university clients on a day to day basis. I also enjoy working with The Registry’s Senior Consultants, and through those connections I have the opportunity to work on placements distributed across the country. Though there are common challenges across the institutions with whom we work, no two interim assignments are exactly alike. In that sense, I enjoy that my job is a little different every day.

Our readers may not be aware of the unique role that you fill, facilitating both membership development and interim placements. How do these varied responsibilities shape your perspective when working with Registry stakeholders?

As I have a strong understanding of what is happening in both areas, I am empowered to respond that much more quickly to the needs of our client institutions and our members, and to my colleagues in The Registry. I am able to pivot and adjust as needed depending on the circumstances at hand. And since I am so often interacting with our members directly, I have a good understanding of their availability for assignments and the kinds of roles they might be interested in. With this knowledge, I can assist our Principals and Senior Consultants when we are attempting to fill a particularly challenging interim position.

You have been an outstanding team member and critical to the success of The Registry, our members, and the institutions we serve. As you look ahead, in what ways do you see yourself growing into this expanded position? 

I am excited to play a more direct role in cultivating new opportunities for our members so that they can continue to make an impact and give back to the Academy. Through those efforts, I look forward to the privilege of working with current Registry clients, and I am also excited to facilitate our engagement with new colleges and universities that we have not yet worked with.
