Clarifying Exclusivity for Registry Interims
In response to questions regarding the terms of the Registry Membership Agreement (the agreement) and expectations of exclusivity, we seek to address the core of those questions here for the benefit of a broader audience. Within the agreement it states that (Article 1, Section (a)):
The consultant is hereby retained by the Registry to provide and perform interim services on an exclusive basis to Registry, in colleges and universities, which means that the Consultant [Registry Member] shall not pursue or accept interim engagements in higher education either unilaterally or through any other business entity. The exclusive services shall be provided at mutually agreeable times and locations and mutually agreed clients of the Registry. The parties will enter an exclusive agreement at the time of a placement with, or performance of services for, a college or university, consistent with this Agreement, setting out further terms and conditions appropriate to such placement.
If you are contacted directly by a college or university, you should inform the institution that you are a Member of The Registry, which operates as your agent for interim placements. If you are the candidate of choice, The Registry will represent you as a sole candidate and will work with you to negotiate the terms and conditions that you consider to be appropriate and optimum.
Should you have any questions about the expectations of exclusivity then please contact us.
Thank you,
The Registry Team
